During her visit to Latin America, Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock honoured Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez with the Unidas Award for Women’s Rights and Democracy at the end of Unidas Week 2023, the most important annual network meeting of the women’s network Unidas. The goal of the network is to enable women’s equal participation in politics, society, culture, media, science, and business.

The Federal Foreign Office (FFO) has commissioned GIZ International Services (GIZ InS) to coordinate the Unidas women’s network through its project Latin America and Caribbean Initiative to Promote Stability, Democracy, and the Rules-Based International Order” (LAK-FSDRIO).
