GIZ a TOP-Performer – Global Health 50/50 Report 2019

The independent Global Health 50/50 Initiative is associated to the Centre for Gender and Global Health at the University College London. It promotes, tracks and regularly reports on initiatives and global efforts to improve health worldwide. Its 2019 report entitled EQUALITY WORKS focuses on how international institutions and stakeholders in global health – international institutions, foundations, public and private sector organisations and NGOs – promote and manage gender equality at institutional level. The study assessed different intervention areas and levels such as commitment to and policies on gender equality, gender ratios at management and leadership levels, equal pay, policy against sexual harassment and abuse, flexibility in work conditions and hours, leave opportunities for parents – female and male, as well as data collection and monitoring on the same. Only fourteen out of 198 institutions – among them GIZ – got the label “very high performer”.
