In celebration of International Women’s Day, the GIZ office in Benin screened the film “L’égalité des sexes au Bénin: « sens inverse »,“ to incite discussion about gender roles in Benin. The film, created by the Decentralization Programme in Benin, showed a series of sketches with reversed gender roles to bring attention to statistics on gender discrimination in Benin. Following the film screening, the attendees participated in a brief debate while enjoying refreshments.

The programs of GIZ Benin invite their partners to discuss the promotion of gender equality in their specific sectors. To guarantee an easy and open approach the rather funny short-film “the other way round” produced by the decentralization program will be shown to ignite the debate.
