GIZ Gender WebsiteOn the 7th of March GIZ Sierra Leone celebrated International Womens Day by organizing a two hour event in each project location. Before the event a 5 minute movie was filmed including not only GIZ employees but also partners and beneficiaries talking based on nine guiding questions about GIZ gender policy, gender equality and International Womens Day related topics to raise awareness about issues and achievements but also give women a platform to voice their thoughts. During the day also a privilege walk and a quiz was conducted to sensitize the staff about gender equality/inequality and its effects on women.
The general idea of the day was to raise awareness about the still persisting gender inequality worldwide as well as in Sierra Leone but also give women in GIZ a space to voice their opinions and be heard.
