Gender equality matters in the COVID-19 response

Day’s Objectives

  • To create awareness on gender equality, women empowerment to galvanize support for gender mainstreaming and gender programming within GIZ.
  • To mobilize support for gender equality actions within GIZ Uganda programs
  • To highlight GCSP contributions to gender mainstreaming and empowerment of women amongst Civil Society actors in Uganda.
  • To celebrate women and girls’ contributions in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

09:15 -09:30 Overview of IWD and why it important and more so to GIZ Introduction of the event and emphasising the importance of Gender programming to GIZ
9:30 – 10:00 Overview of the Gender situation in Uganda (quiz) and opens the commitment wall) To appreciate Gender programming
10:00 – 10:15 Event opening remarks from Konstanze head of GCSP Demonstrate Programme commitment to Gender and call to action by all parties.
10:15 – 11:05 Panel discussion; Panellists: Women leaders at GIZ Uganda.
