Insights from Grida Duma – The Power of Communication in Empowering Women in Business

The Women Economic Chamber, with the support of GIZ ProSEED 2.0, successfully organized an inspiring communication session on Women in Business Leadership. This impactful event was held under the framework of the “Boosting Support for MSMEs in Albania” project, which is funded by GIZ and implemented by Enpact and the Women Economic Chamber.

The Boosting Support for MSMEs in Albania project aims to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, skills, and expertise to strengthen Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Albania. By equipping them with essential tools, the initiative helps businesses navigate and compete in an evolving economic landscape.

A key objective of the project is to empower business support organizations and chambers to independently manage and expand targeted advisory services for MSMEs.

In alignment with this mission, the Women Economic Chamber hosted this exclusive session, featuring renowned journalist Grida Duma, who is also a former Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament.

Drawing from her extensive leadership experience, Mrs. Duma engaged participants in an open discussion about the unique challenges women face in leading businesses, public institutions, and their families. She shared valuable strategies for overcoming these challenges, emphasizing resilience, strategic decision-making, and effective leadership in traditionally male-dominated sectors.

The session also explored the crucial role of communication in defining a woman’s position in society. Mrs. Duma provided insightful techniques on how women in business can harness the power of communication to strengthen their influence, build confidence, and navigate complex professional environments. The event fostered an interactive atmosphere, where participants exchanged experiences and received practical guidance on enhancing their leadership skills.

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with a female leader who has successfully navigated the complexities of professional and public life.

The session proved to be an inspiring and empowering experience, reinforcing the importance of strong communication skills in advancing women’s leadership across various sectors.

The Women Economic Chamber, together with its partners, remains committed to supporting women entrepreneurs and business leaders in Albania. By facilitating such impactful discussions, the chamber continues to drive forward its mission of fostering a more inclusive and resilient business environment for women-led enterprises.
