The “Leave No One Behind” (LNOB) principle is crucial for many projects and has positive effects from which both the marginalised groups and the project itself benefit.

In her article, Hannah Schabert, who is part of the “Experts for Partners” project of GIZ, shares her experience on the inclusion of marginalised groups in municipal projects. Further, she explains how to communicate the importance of LNOB to municipalities successfully and how to involve the target group from the planning stages to the implementation of the project.

The article was published on 14th March, on Urbanet as a part of the spotlight on “Gender, LNOB and feminist development policy” in March 2023. Urbanet is a weblog that fosters the international dialogue on development cooperation and provides a platform for experts in the fields of sustainable urban development, municipal and local governance and decentralization.
