In the context of the International Women’s Day, the GIZ gender month and the publication of the new German feminist development policy, GIZ Cameroon is organising a panel discussion on this policy. The policy underlines the importance of working in a context-sensitive way and in close collaboration with other development actors – most importantly feminist civil society. This panel discussion is creating a forum for exchange on the principles and values of this new policy. Panel discussants and participants can share their opinions and suggestions for the continuous improvement of the promotion of gender equality in the German development cooperation.
The panelists will include well known civil society activists like Marthe Wandou of ALDEPA, Françoise Baba of AFFADA, and the vice-president of WILPF Cameroon Armelle Tsafack, the representative of the female entrepreneur association AWEP Caroline Sack Kendem, the female mayor of Foumban Hon. Tomaïno Ndam Njoya and the traditional chief from Ezezang, Central region Her Majesty Jeannine Belibi as well as a representative from MINPROFF and the German embassy.
The event takes place in the capital Yaoundé on 15th March between 10 am and 2 pm. The event in Yaoundé is invitation-only but for those who can’t be present physically, there will be the opportunity to join online.
