GIZ INDIA ꟾ Gender Day Online Meet 2022
TOPIC: DE-CODING THE ‘APLAK GENDER CODE OF CONDUCT’
WHEN: WEDNESDAY, 9TH MARCH 2022, 3:00 – 4:15 PM (INDIAN STANDARD TIME)
WHERE: MS TEAMS MEETING
Promoting gender equality is one of the essential values of our company and our work. Equality is a prerequisite and driver for sustainable development and, together with inclusion and human rights, a quality criterion of one of our main commissioning parties – the BMZ as well.
Gender equality is a human right whose implementation in International Development Cooperation is not a matter of a predetermined conclusion but a pre-requisite for sustainable development. This is precisely the goal of the APLAK Gender Code of Conduct, which has been recently agreed upon recently in February 2022 and stands in line with the GIZ Gender Strategy.
With the great number of online events surrounding the Annual GIZ Gender Week 2022 across GIZ Worldwide, we at GIZ India, would observe our GIZ India Gender Day Online Meet on Wednesday, 9th March 2022 to discuss the APLAK Gender Code of Conduct.
We aim to foster an interactive meet which would provide the opportunity to engage with proven approaches that promote gender mainstreaming and an opportunity to discuss how the existing APLAK Gender Code of Conduct can complement our work at country level. We also are ambitiously aiming to create a working group, post this meet, to look into the workings of the Gender Code of Conduct for GIZ India. So do join in!
The GIZ India Gender Day online meet is an opportunity for us to take into cognizance the implementation of our Gender Strategy and further strengthen the implementation of it via the Gender Code of Conduct. As Gender Equality scenarios are unique for every country, and especially so, in a patriarchal country such as India: let us come together to interact and understand more of how some of our work towards Gender Equality could aim to meet the necessary action for sustainable development and a gender equal corporate culture.
Without gender equality today, a sustainable future, and an equal future, remains beyond our reach.
We warmly invite you to join in and contribute to this important meet!
