The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology and the GIZ-GMIT project team organized “Out of the Box – Gender Equality” photo competition among GMIT students for the Gender Week 2021. The purpose of the competition is to gain students’ understanding of gender equality through the photography, as well as to convey their “OUT OF THE BOX – FREE THINKING TO THE PUBLIC”. On the other hand, this activity aims to promote the concept of Gender Equality on the campus of GMIT. During the competition period, organizers received 25 pictures from students.
The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology was awarded for implementing gender sensitivity policy starting from school operations, student recruitment to student’s engagement. The University Statute promotes diversity and gender equality as one of the core values. The gender policy has been brought to life after a non- vacant position of a Diversity Liaison Officer was given to a highly motivated staff with the GMIT. The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) was awarded as the best “GENDER CONSCIOUS ORGANIZATION” in Mongolia by the Mineral Resources Women’s Association and the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry. During the national conference 2021 “Women Leadership in Responsible Mining”, Prof. Dr. B.Battsengel, Rector of GMIT, received the prestigious Gender-Award from Mrs. Ch.Anun, Head of Foreign Cooperation Division, and Mrs. T.Chimegsanaa, Senior Expert of the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry.
