– One of this year’s winners of the GIZ Gender Prize (in category GG2) !! –

The Step It Up for Gender Equality in South African Media project is a joint initiative by the BMZ commissioned Partnerships for Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls Programme (PFP) and UN Women South Africa. The aim of the Step It Up project is to motivate South African media and entertainment industry to a behaviour change leading to more sensitive portrayal of women and gender, sensitive reporting on GBV and an overall a more positive impact on societies norms and standards around gender and violence. The project uses research, facilitation of dialogue and self-reflection, capacity building and influencing policy and regulation to achieve this change.

Maximilian Vogt and Luxolo Matomela from the Programme “Partnerships for Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls in Southern Africa”  will join us to present their media project.

The knowledge café will be held in English.
