Gender equality is an engine and elementary feature of a future worth living around the world. As such it features high on the German, European and international agenda. SDG5 was amongst the first SDGs to be reviewed by the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July 2017 and forms the main theme of the European Development Days and the OECD Global Forum on Development in 2018.
