Give us your ideas and win an original Basotho-blanket!
The new regional programme „Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls in Southern Africa“ is looking to brand itself. We need a catchy title and/or acronym that we can translate into a logo and overall branding strategy!
The programme is implemented under the heading “Partnerships. Action. Evidence”. Multi-stakeholder partnerships form a key principle of programme implementation so we need to create a brand that partners from different sectors want to be part of. At the same time, the brand needs to speak to the severity of the problems around gender-based violence.Factsheet Regional VAWG Programme Southern Africa EN

The winner will receive an original Basotho-blanket from Lesotho. The world renowned Basotho tribal blankets distinguish this nation from others by the way in which the blankets are worn as part of their everyday life. The designs have been developed over many years with the blessing of the Lesotho Royal Family. The corncob is the most widely used motif throughout the range of the Basotho heritage blankets. In Basotho culture maize is the staple food and therefore the corncob is a symbol of fertility and wealth. The more prestigious Seanamarena design features more corncobs than the everyday wearing blankets, the Sefate and Morena. Traditionally Basotho blankets are manufactured from wool which offers protection from the wind and rain and provides warmth in the high altitude of The Mountain Kingdom.
