Event Documentation:
GIZ globally announced the Gender week 2016 between March 7-11, 2016 on the topic of gender equality and women’s empowerment. In accordance with this occasion, IMRI program organized an event of “Current gender equality issues in Mongolia” in Sukhbaatar city, Selenge province on March 10, 2016. As the event participants, more than 20 representatives of local government, civil society organizations and business enterprises of Selenge province expressed their gender roles by various drawings and open debates. The discussion on gender roles and gender equality leaded to the presentation of “Gender stereotypes and gender equality issues in Mongolia” by IMRI consultant and the gender expert Ms. Chantsaldulam. The gender stereotypes and all gender relating information provided by this event significantly raised gender equality awareness for the relevant stakeholders of IMRI’s Integrated Community Development Partnership (ICDP) project in Selenge province. In addition, the Gender focal point of IMRI program informed about GIZ Mongolia gender strategy and action plans as well as IMRI gender activities to all stakeholders and exchanged the proposals on future gender activities.
