The Selection Committee of the GIZ Gender Competition, Tanja Gönner, Chair of the GIZ Management Board and the GIZ Corporate Jury on the occasion of the Gender Competition 2018, awarded the team submission “Gender in Agricultural Value Chain Promotion: Empowering female farmers in selected African value chains” by Regional Programme Agricultural Value Chains for Sustainable Development (A4SD)” in the category GG1 due to its exceptional approach regarding the promotion of gender equality, the First Place in the Gender Competition 2018!

Gender Competition 2018 – Runners Up
Furthermore, the best 18 teams presented their contributions in an exhibition during aduring the Gender Award Ceremony. In addition to the Award Winners of the GG1 category the following contributions presented their outstanding contributions: “Strenghtening the Human Rights of LGBT Persons in Uganda“, “Unlocking benefits of electrification for Women in Tanzania“, “Implementing UNSCE 1325 in the SADC region“, “Empowering Gender throuigh Water Wise Plumbers“, “The “Glass Ceiling” for Women also exists in National Human Rights Institutions“, and “Egyptian Women’s Financial Inclusion“.
